California is clearing criminal records — including violent crimes — to offer second chances

Summary by Ground News
Under a new law, Californians with felony convictions can ask for their records to be cleared. It's not clear how many of these felony expungements have been granted. Since mid-2023, there have been 26 in Sacramento County and 48 in Kern County. The law calls "records relief," but it doesn't erase the cases entirely.
