Column | Markku Wilenius: History teaches but we don't learn

Summary by ts.fi
I don't know of but one prominent economist in the world who knew how to predict the global financial crisis in 2008. He is named after Nouriel Roubini, a professor emeritus at New York's Stern School of Business, who read in the early 2000s similar signs of economic overheating to what he had seen in 1990s Asia. When he first presented his ideas to other economists in 2006, he was ridiculed. Everything went well.
