Des Moines, Iowa · Des MoinesALGONA—Algona earned a pair of North Central Conference girls golf wins on Thursday, April 25 in a triangular played at the River Road Golf Club.
The red-and-black compiled a winning team total of 210 as Iowa Falls-Alden was right behind with a 212 and Webster City was third with score of 218.
Both Olivia French of Iowa Falls-Alden and Abby Brooks had a nine-hole score of 45 as French won the medalist honor via card tiebreaker.See the Story

Golf · Des MoinesFORT DODGE—The Bishop Garrigan Golden Bear boys’ golf team finished in third place overall with a team score of 346 at the annual CYO golf tournament held at the Lakeside Golf Course on Wednesday, April 24.
The black-and-gold’s score was topped only by Carroll Kuemper with a 312 and LeMars Gehlen with a 324 in the six-team field.See the Story

Bulldog boys host annual Hackbarth Relays
Des Moines, Iowa · Des MoinesFormer Bishop Garrigan and DMACC sophomore Angelo Winkel was named to the NJCAA Division II First-Team All-American squad.
Winkel helped lead DMACC to a fifth place showing in the national tournament, compiled a 32-5 record and was named to the all-tournament team.
Angelo was a Region II All-Region first team choice and was named the ICCAC Player of the Year at the end of the season.See the Story

Des Moines, Iowa · Des MoinesSPIRIT LAKE—Winning six events during the meet, the Algona Bulldog boys track team won six events and placed second overall with 127 points at the Sheryl Maahs Co-Ed Relays.
The meet was moved up 24 hours from April 16 because a threat of incoming weather. Max Nevitt won the shot put with a heave of 49’ 10” and Shirji Patel took the discus by flipping the platter 144’ 4”.See the Story
